While wearing a mask is still encouraged it will no longer be enforced for all operations within the school district. Schools will still have masks available for students and staff members. WISD will continue to follow all quarantine guidelines as recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Texas Education Agency (TEA). This means, if your student is not wearing a mask while attending school, they may be quarantined if they have been deemed, by school officials, to have had close contact to a person testing positive for COVID-19.
This is a fluid situation and WISD will continue to monitor all COVID-19 testing and positive result rates within our district and schools. WISD will continue to sanitize all of its facilities and buses regularly for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school-year.
We would like to thank all of our students, parents, and staff for all of their patience and support as we have navigated through this together.
We will announce any further changes or updates to our WISD health procedures as they become necessary.
